[IC Information]
Character Name: Kino Makoto / Sailor Jupiter
Series: Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Species: Human
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: at 5'6", Makoto is considered tall to the Sailor Senshi. She has long brown hair that is always pulled back into a ponytail using the same green hair band, showing the rose earrings that are always in her ears. She has expressive green eyes. She normally wears her school uniform, which is a brown pleated skirt with a white blouse
and brown collar. This normally paired with a pair of brown shoes with a small heel. While transformed, she is seen in a version of a Sailor Fuku, with a short green skirt and collar, with a pink bow on her chest and on her lower back. In the middle of the bow on the front of her uniform is a green button, continuing with the theme of pink and green. Her uniform shoes are green ankle boots that are laced with white laces. Lastly, her uniform is completed with a gold tiara across her forehead with a green jewel in the middle of it, in the middle of her forehead.
Personality: While somewhat of a tomboy, Makoto is also very feminine.
She's very nice to people, but can come across to some as overbearing because of the fact that she is involved in many masculine activities, like martial arts. (Many people were scared of her when she originally transferred because she was kicked out of her old school for fighting.) She's very self sufficient, with can be explained by the fact that her parents were killed in a plane crash when she was young. She lives alone, and is strong enough mentally, emotionally, and physically to take care of herself. Makoto is good at making friends, as long as she doesn't intimidate them too much when she first meets them. She’s a great cook and baker, and is always willing to make goodies for her friends and other people who want to try the goodies, this is actually how she became friends with Usagi when she first met her. Even though she shows these qualities, she’s always surprised and acts a bit humble when someone tells her that she’s feminine, always having a hard time balancing the two sides of herself. Example: She redecorated her home using a sledgehammer one time. But, the biggest thing about her personality is that she will always be willing to protect her friends. Makoto is always willing to put herself forward in order to protect any of her friends from harm, especially Usagi, the princess.
Abilities: While transformed, Sailor Jupiter can control the elements of thunder and lightning, and is given one attack that focuses around wood. (This correlates with her given name: Makoto = wood) When she uses these abilities, a small lightening rod appears from her tiara to add to the power of the lightening attacks. Normally, she can use these for extended periods of time, but in Manhattan she can only use her strong attacks two/three times before she becomes exhausted and runs the risk of detransforming due to her energy loss, and she wouldn’t want to risk that. An ability that Makoto has as Sailor Jupiter or as her normal self is her physical strength. It was proven in the first arc when she was able to lift a man over her head and throw him before she knew that she was Sailor Jupiter. Her martial arts experience also applies, she attended classes before she ended up in the ruins of Manhattan.
Weaknesses: She hates airplanes, and won’t get on them because of the death of her parents. Also, due to her status as being one of the protectors of Sailor Moon, the princess, if she ever arrives in Manhattan, it would be considered a weakness, because she would sacrifice everything in order to keep Usagi safe.
Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider
History: Up until she was 14, Kino Makoto lived a quasi-normal life. It is discovered that she lives alone, and also that her parents were killed in some sort of plane accident when she was younger, although there are no specific details about how it happened. She’s your typical teenager, even though she was kicked out of her prior high school for fighting, which is when she transferred to Usagi’s school. When she meets Usagi at her new school, she is soon discovered to be one of the Sailor Senshi, Sailor Jupiter. She quickly ends up befriending the other guardian Senshi, and works with them throughout the entire duration of the series. She fights alongside of the inners, being part of the group known as the “Guardian Senshi” because their primary duty is to protect Sailor Moon, who was their princess in a prior life, and the Queen in their future. Sailor Jupiter has ‘died’ three times in the series, each time being revived by the other Senshi or Sailor Moon. At the end of the “Sailor Moon” Arc, she was killed by Queen Baryl, and was brought back to life in the same form, but didn’t have her memories of what had occurred before. She regained her memories in “Sailor Moon R” and began to fight again with Sailor Moon and the others. Throughout the rest of the arcs, she didn’t die nor lose her memories, but she did lose her heart crystal for a time, which was placed back later by Sailor Moon. Through “Super” “SuperS” and “Stars” Jupiter fought against the villains without too much damage. This changed near the final battle with Sailor Galaxia, where she and the other Senshi had their star seeds stolen and was possessed in order fight against Sailor Moon. In the end, because she lost her star seed, she died, but was revived after the final battle.
